5:15ers - Live At The Athurball Echo Park (2006)

Not sure if I posted this one before..anyway...

Fififf Teeners (or The 5:15ers) is the name given to the side project of musicians Josh Homme and Chris Goss.
The alias of the duo was first used when they co-produced Queens of the Stone Age's Rated R,[1] and again for the band's fifth studio album, Era Vulgaris.[2] To date, the pair have only performed as the 5:15ers once, at the ArthurBall held at the Echoplex, a club in Echo Park, California. The set was a mix of tracks from both their respective careers, including a number of Masters of Reality songs, "100 Days" from Mark Lanegan's Bubblegum (Which both Goss and Homme contributed to) and "You Would Know" by Queens of the Stone Age. Another song played was a cover of "Space For Rent" by the Danish three-piece WhoMadeWho. The performance also included original work, with the song "Into the Hollow" later appearing on Era Vulgaris.

Narcoiris - Cazador (2009)

Last night I went to see Los Natas and someone in the crowd gave me a CD like a flyer... I really didn't paid any attention, since I thought it was yet another crappy "wannabe" rock band, but today when listening to it, it's a really good one, totally blown away by the sound quality, so in exchange for a free CD I'll help them with a little promotion... nothing to envy to any other "new wave" Argentinian stoner band.. there you have.

Black Pyramid - S/T (2009)

Another Doom gem, among the finest 09 releases...
Black Pyramid play doom with the rumbling down-tuned tones of stoner metal gods like Sleep, Electric Wizard, and High On Fire, but with the epic arrangements of old school metal and doom acts such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram, and The Obsessed. Add to the sonic brew perfectly executed forays into vintage psych and progressive rock, along with the apocalyptic lyrical ravings about war, the occult, and general alienation, and you've got an accurate picture of what the band is all about. Prepare to be crushed by the weight of the Black Pyramid...

Noxagt - The Iron Point (2008)

Norwegian 3-piece noxagt come at you with record #2. Bass, drums and viola configured for maximum damage to ear canals. This record swings hard, rocks like a demon and has some majestic dimensions. Billy anderson (melvins, sleep) produced this slab with an eye for skull-burning bass crunk, artery bursting drum hits, and full spectrum viola rake. for fans of hard rock and swinging riffage like the dirty three, dirty crawl such as the melvins, and single minded pummel like label mates / touring partners lightning bolt. Mad shit.
