De Con - Balls for Days (1995)

Judging for the cover, it looks like a "skate-punk" record, and you know what? It is indeed, so, what the fuck is doing a skatepunk album on the Gome? Well, let me tell you the magic words....
"Brant Bjork".... I think this is the fastest he ever played drums.
So, is it good? Hell yeahh, I'm not that much into punk rock but i could say this is not bad at all..
Grab your board and enjoy..
You'd better enjoy it(It took me more than a year to get this album)

BRANT BJORK - SABBIA (2006)

Photobucket
Take it or leave it, but I've noticed that pretty much everyone to stumble across our cozy little corny of the blogosphere tends to worship at the altar of Brother Brant. This soundtrack is certainly cool for what it is, but ultimately, you need the entire visual experience of the film to truly appreciate it. There are definitely some highlights here, but a great deal of Sabbia's music is simple demos and outtakes in less-than-crisp quality. That doesn't mean the tracks aren't interesting - I'm just not gonna sit here and say the music by itself is essential Brant Bjork. It's cool to groove to, but for the full experience, head on over to Amazon and order the DVD. Kate McCabe did a fantastic job giving Brother Brant's music visual accompaniment. And there are used copies for like $6.

BRANT BJORK - JALAMANTA (1999) ***BY REQUEST***

This one's for Seth who just happened to drop in and find himself in good company. Another Man's Ruin classic, and arguably Brother Brant's best record. A lot of you prefer Brant's more rockin' stuff, and I certainly respect that, but I've always found Jalamanta to be an experience unto itself. We know Brant can rock, and we know he also loves soul, funk and jazz. Jalamanta is a little light on the former, and heavy on the latter three. That, in my opinion, makes this album absolutely essential. For the most part, Jalamanta is a one-man-band that sounds like a jam. The only other musician present is G.O.M.E. fave Mario Lalli, and his contributions are limited and under the proverbial radar at best. This is Brother Brant's show, and he morphs into Prince and makes a one-man-band sound like a live jam. Absolutely essential, but don't look for KYUSS or FU MANCHU or BB & THE BROS. sounds. You can't have a closed mind here. Regardless of your preferences, though, it'll be impossible to walk away from Jalamanta without respecting Brant Bjork.

TEN EAST - EXTRATERRESTRIAL HIGHWAY (2006?)

This is "The desert rock All Star’s", Mario Lalli? You got it, Brant Bjork? Fuck yeah, Gary Arce from Yawning Man? sure man, they all met last year and after a couple of jamming they released "Extraterrestrial Highway", a road trip to nowhere, too "space" to be FATSO JETSON, too much Mario's FJ Guitar to be Yawning Man, yet, a nice balance between aforementioned groups, as for Brant's, he plays the bass here, so is not much his influence, though, you can fill the groove. Highlight for me is "Scrapping the Barrel", only three riffs make this the most shadowy song ever came out from Mario's guitar.
As they say, it's like Black Sabbath goes surfing, great for listening when thinking of nothing, however, I could say I expected a little more from this legends. Anyway It definitively deserves a post.

It's divided in 3 parts because file its bigger than 100MB allowed storage on MF, download and save all parts in the same folder, then decompress part1.rar as usual and that's it. Use the comments if failure.

Che - Sounds of Liberation (2000)

I won’t be lying you if I told you this is probably one of the best records Brother Brant ever made (aside from Kyuss and Fu) this one is at the same level of the all mighty Jalamanta. With Alfredo Hernandez on drums and Dave Dinsmore (Unida) on bass, they merge in a more desert and more tight release, this is closer to Fu Manchu early days and nowadays Brant Somera Sol, is the perfect balance between all Brant ever did. This will quickly become ones of your favorites, no kidding, man
Weak point, it last less than 30 minutes, Is not enough. Another HIGHLY RECOMENDED.

01 - Hydraulicks
02 - The Knife
03 - Pray For Rock
04 - Sounds Of Liberation
05 - Adelante
06 - Blue Demon
07 - The Day The Pirate Retired

BRANT BJORK - TRES DIAS (2007)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Here's another treat for the Deserthead section of the G.O.M.E. faithful. On this limited edition release, Brant picks and chooses from his entire solo catalog and debuts three new songs. These are not album versions, but rather the 8-track equivalent of the great Brant Bjork loading a bowl, cracking a beer, and covering his own tunes.

Brant sez: Some days, I just like to sit outside, under the sun, with my guitar, and sing my songs to myself. It relaxes me. It also reminds me what my songs are all about.

Tres Dias is available in very limited quantities. I suggest the super-cool yellow vinyl. I encourage you all to support Brant Bjork Duna Records.

*note: This archive includes a QOTSAXFM-esque bonus. I would prefer that it not be mentioned by name in the comments.

BRANT BJORK & THE BROS - SAVED BY MAGIC (2005) ***BY REQUEST***

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Matias requested this double-disc warhorse, and since he's really contributing to the page, I feel like I should oblige him. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Big Jack is a huge fan of Brant Bjork's music. Bjork actually reminds me a lot of Chris Goss and Josh Homme, not just because of the KYUSS family tree, but because all three of them seem to have more music in them than they know what to do with. This sprawling doubler is not Bjork's best work in my opinion, but only because it's so diffuse. It introduces THE BROS, though, who are making a much bigger splash this year with Somera Sol. That said, there's a lot to enjoy here. "Lil Bro" is one of my favorite Brant Bjork tunes, and I particularly dig the "Sunshine of Your Love" cover. Brant's one of rock's greatest drummers, but he's not the most dynamic frontman. He's also not the world's greatest shredder. He makes up for it with solid writing, attitude, and an incredible ear. He knows what he likes, and it works. Saved by Magic isn't my favorite Brant Bjork project, but he's yet to release a bad one. Recommended.
